Understanding Anxiety

Anxiety is a natural response to perceived danger or uncertainty. It can be useful in some situations, but when it becomes persistent or difficult to control, it can begin to affect everyday life.

You may find yourself worrying excessively, avoiding situations, struggling to relax or feeling constantly on edge. Sometimes it can be difficult to understand why these feelings are happening, particularly when there is no obvious reason for them.

Anxiety can also become a pattern. The more we worry or avoid situations that make us uncomfortable, the more the brain can learn to respond in the same way.

Understanding what is maintaining the anxiety can be an important first step towards changing the pattern and feeling more in control.

I can help you explore what is happening and develop new ways of responding, using hypnotherapy and other therapeutic approaches where appropriate.

There Is A Way Forward

Anxiety can become a cycle. Worry creates tension, tension can make us more alert to possible problems, and this can lead to more worry.

The first step is understanding what is keeping the cycle going.

Together, we can explore the patterns behind your anxiety and identify what may be maintaining it. From there, we can work on developing different ways of responding to thoughts, feelings and situations.

The aim is not simply to manage anxiety, but to help you feel more confident and able to deal with life on your own terms.

Change does not have to happen all at once. Even small changes can begin to create a different way forward.

How Therapy Can Help

Therapy is not simply about trying to think more positively or finding ways to cope. It is about understanding what is happening and identifying the patterns that may be keeping the problem in place.

Together, we can explore the thoughts, feelings and experiences that are contributing to anxiety and consider what may need to change.

I use hypnotherapy alongside other therapeutic approaches, including NLP, where appropriate. The approach is tailored to you and your individual circumstances.

The aim is to help you develop healthier ways of responding, build confidence and feel more able to manage life on your own terms.

Change does not have to happen all at once. Small changes can begin to make a meaningful difference.
